Your submission must include:

  • A tentative title

  • A summary of the topic, including a justification why this topic is of interest to the EUSIPCO community and why it is different from a regular session (max. 300 words)
  • Expected attendance (max. 150 words)

No author or co-author can be on more than one paper in the proposed special session. The number of papers per session is minimum 5, maximum 6, and maximum 2 of the papers can be contributed by the organizers. All accepted papers are required to be presented in person by one or more authors.

Aims and scope

We invite proposals for Special Sessions on innovative, high-quality topics in signal and high-dimensional data processing that complement the regular program of the conference. Preferably, they have a focus on interdisciplinary research or address significant societal challenges. Special Sessions should be focused and provide both an overview of the state-of-the-art, as well as highlight the most promising research directions, trends and challenges in the proposed field of signal processing.

Proposal selection

Special session proposals will be evaluated based on:

  • The innovativeness of the proposed topic;
  • The expected impact and quality of the contributed papers;
  • The background and diversity of the session organizer(s) and contributing authors.

Selection of a special session proposal does not guarantee final acceptance of the special session. Papers submitted to special sessions will undergo the same rigorous review process as regular conference submissions. The review process will be handled by the Special Session organizers, with the support of the Special Session chairs for papers co-authored by the organizers. Acceptance of papers in a special session is solely based on quality. The Technical Committee will endeavor to schedule a special session as an oral session.
